When a Catholic person reaches the age of Confirmation (roughly 13 years old) or when someone converts to the Catholic faith, it is common to take on a patron saint – some saint that the Catholic person is drawn to, for whatever reason, and seeks out as a prayer partner and guide for their life.
When I converted, I though St. Patrick would be a good patron saint. He was a strong missionary and faithful bishop. But I felt like God was pulling me towards St. Henry.
St. Henry was a “man of the world, just not this one” (Bono). He discovered his vocation was not to be cloistered within the walls of a monastery, even though, as tradition has it, that was what he wanted. Instead, he was called to live out a very secular life in the best meaning of the word. He was meant to follow God into the mess and mud of daily life and the daily business of the world, using his position to make the world around him a better place.
This was my favorite depiction of him I made with Midjourney:

This last one, with the longer, skinnier face, is a little close to what he may have looked like.
